Reflection: Data logger

REFLECTION OF DATA LOGGER
Last Thursday, we are done with the practical of data logger. We need to carry out an experiment in order to find the temperature and humidity in the room temperature and our body. Data logger is an electronic device that records data over time or in relation to location either with a built in instrument or sensor or via external instruments and sensors.). They generally are small, battery powered, portable, and equipped with a microprocessor, internal memory for data storage, and sensors. Data loggers interface with a personal computer and utilize software to activate the data logger and view and analyze the collected data. The advantage of data logger is that it can operate independently of a computer that has variety shapes and sizes. This allows for a comprehensive, accurate picture of the environmental conditions being monitored, such as air temperature and relative humidity. In this experiment, we need to put the sensor first to the data logger. The sensor is put from the right first to the left. Next, we need to set up the parameter for example in this experiment we are using temperature and humidity. After that, then we can get the reading of our body temperature by putting the sensor in our finger tips. Actually this experiment required two temperature sensor and a humidity sensor. But due to the damage of the temperature sensor, so we only use one temperature sensor and one humidity sensor only. So that, the data logger will take the reading as simple as that. When we are finishing the experiment, we need to transform the reading into the graph form. This is we the data logging can benefits us. We do not need to plot the reading and draw the line. We just attach the data logger to the computer and open the software so we can get the graph of our reading. But, we need to make sure that we have the software if not, the computer could not read the reading. For the data logger, we do not have the software, so that we use the laptop in the class to open the data logger. But the problem is the laptop is very slow and sometime it is hanging. So that we need to spend a lots of time to have the graph. The sensor that we use help us to know the humidity of the surrounding. If not, we cannot measure humidity by our own. But data logger help us to plot the graph of humidity. In this opportunity, I would like to thank our instructor for teaching us about data logger.
